News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
Betty’s Burgers on Rundle Street seems to be doing well with a queue out the door.

Really pleased they resolved that section of Brunelli's. It was always a bugger to walk through on a busy day. That said, the fake greenery on the outdoor tables can go in the bin...

Not sure if old news, but there's a Liquor Licence Application stuck to the old Planet on Pirie St.
Maybe just a temporary Fringe pop-up? At least its activity anyway.....

Is the Krispy Creme in the background (next to Subway) new?

St. Louis is opening somewhere on Rundle Street, any guesses where it's going?

There's some non-specific teaser graphics of something coming soon up on the window of the former Mimco store, but that would seem too small (and a weird location — it's all fashion stores there).Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 9:58 pmSt. Louis is opening somewhere on Rundle Street, any guesses where it's going?
The former T2 or Max Brenner stores would seem like the obvious options, but haven't seen any hint of activity at either or those two.

Some new additional signage at Jamie’s Italian, King William/North Terrace.

I thought Jamie’s had closed down again?
Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
He bought the concept back from the team that were running it under license, hence the slight branding change.

It’ll be in the old Max Brenner.Nathan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 10:33 pmThere's some non-specific teaser graphics of something coming soon up on the window of the former Mimco store, but that would seem too small (and a weird location — it's all fashion stores there).Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 11, 2019 9:58 pmSt. Louis is opening somewhere on Rundle Street, any guesses where it's going?

Not sure how they can declare the pub will close forever - unless it is being sold or developed, which I am not aware of. Hopefully they just mean in its current form and it will be refreshed and live to see another day (hopefully with less of a focus on pokies)...

The CBD’s landmark sports viewing venue will close its doors forever following the recent death of its owner.
The Rosemont Hotel on Hindley St has been the pre-eminent place for people wanting to watch sport late at night and in the early mornings, drawing big crowds.
But in a Facebook post it said it would close its doors after nearly 20 years, and would give patrons the opportunity to get a piece of the iconic venue to keep.
“After nearly 20 years The Rosemont Hotel and Pokies is shutting its doors forever this month,” it said.
“We will be holding a massive garage sell with everything from sporting memorabilia to books, DVDs, bar paraphernalia and promo gear.
“Come check out what we got and take a piece of The Rosie home with you.”
The garage sale will be held this weekend.
It follows the recent death of owner Rob Rose, who was one of the best-known publicans in the West End of the city. He was also involved with Tilt, The Berkley, HQ and the Hindley.
West End Association president Andrew Wallace said Mr Rose was a “true West End legend”.
In happier news, yesterday it was announced that one of Adelaide’s best-known pubs, the Royal Hotel at Kent Town, was making a return more than two years after closing its doors.
The rebranded Royal Terrace Hotel on the corner of North Tce and Dequetteville Tce, Kent Town, will begin trading this week after a three-month renovation, timed to coincide for Adelaide’s festival season.

Also the closed Fowler's Live reopens as the Lion Arts Factory tomorrow night.

I see the Rosemont closing down as a good opportunity for something new. It's in a prime position for a hotel or a new night club.
Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
Anyone know what's happening with the Ed Castle? Since closing last year it has had a for sale sign up. Today the front balcony is surrounded by scaffolding.
Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs
The sign now says "Under Contract" or "Under Offer".
