Burger Boss on Hindley Street has closed.

No surprise there, the food was terrible and the store had really strange opening hours.utaussiefan wrote:Burger Boss on Hindley Street has closed.

Update to this, the balcony is now mostly dismantled. Since the rest of the building seems untouched I hope this is a sign they are making it safe to reopen as a venue.

Food court at Rundle Mall Plaza from today.
Entrance and only banners I could see to say there was a food court upstairs:
Soonta:
Ban Ban:
Clio Cafe:
Connection through to Myer Centre:
Empty units under construction, including a mezzanine level:
Nice to see some promotion on social media although the address could be a bit more specific:

I'm probably coming off as a bit of a pessimist today on the forums, so I do apologise!
This place isn't going to survive very long if they don't market it properly. Why aren't there big banners somewhere on the two levels of window that cover the foodcourt area advertising the newly opened foodcourt?

I tend to agree. There needs to either be some really prominent tenant or great advertising to get anyone up there.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2019 2:01 pmI'm probably coming off as a bit of a pessimist today on the forums, so I do apologise!

The amenity is lovely but the offering is limited, so I tend to agree. It's curious how averse Adelaide people are to shopping upper levels.

Based on the size of the space, a Zambrero's of even Cibo Espresso would have suited this nicely. Whilst I don't really rate either, they have a name attached to them and would likely pull in some traffic.

Zamby's already has busy Hindley Street and Rundle Street stores that it would have cannibalized sales from.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 8:59 amBased on the size of the space, a Zambrero's of even Cibo Espresso would have suited this nicely. Tried to go to Little Ban Ban for lunch. “Sorry, we’re out of wings… and out of drumsticks”.

Both Hotel Whitmore and Pirate Life at the Port officially launch this weekend.

So the renovated Whitmore hotel opened as Sparkke at the Whitmore, and according to the Advertiser: "The 636-seat pub features a microbrewery"
Can this be right (or is that an Advertiser typo...) ? Having more than 600 seats sounds like a ridicoulous amount of space in that location

Lease has now been taken over by GM Hotels Group (which runs a bunch of pretty average suburban pubs e.g. The Tower etc) to be relaunched as 'The Rosey' next month. Moderate immediate upgrade focused on improving food and bar offering, as well as allowing weekend live music, and apparently short-to-medium term plans to redevelop a beer garden and mezzanine level.

I would hardly call The Tower Hotel at Magill average... Have you seen what they did in the last upgrade? Complete overhaul of what it use to be. If anything, this is a promising outcome.SRW wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 5:29 pmLease has now been taken over by GM Hotels Group (which runs a bunch of pretty average suburban pubs e.g. The Tower etc) to be relaunched as 'The Rosey' next month.
