Btw, I had for the first time a driver with two phones - one for UBER and one for OLA. I guess a bit like playing the stock market, trying to maximise his return to earn the best or most fares.

Some recent stats on International air travel and Adelaide Airport. Hope you find them interesting.

Good info. Thanks for posting.
The other stats that would be interesting to know are the load factors out of Adelaide.

Don't have the load factors in and out of Adelaide. That's something AAL or the individual airlines would be able to supply. Here are the (total) load factors Australia-wide for each airline. Still makes interesting reading.
Cheers

Thanks for the stats.
I don't see any reason why international traffic through Adelaide couldn't hit the 2 million mark in the next 10-15 years, you'd imagine they'd be aiming big. It's been shown demand is there if the flights are made available.

Qantas flights to Chile and South Africa pretty much full all the time. Those are 747 services as well.

Norman, thanks for posting the report year ending 2018. Would be great to have the individual airlines load factors for Adelaide. Even better would be to have them per month for the whole year either 2018 or year ending in March 2019 etc. This helps in choosing flights that aren't full. Wishful thinking.Norman wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 10:24 pmYou can read the rest of the report here: https://www.bitre.gov.au/publications/o ... CY2018.pdf

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
While that would be nice, I think it would be commercially sensitive data that the airlines don't want each other to know about, publicly anyway.Ho Really wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:22 pmNorman, thanks for posting the report year ending 2018. Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
From an operational perspective, a low load factor means that the airline used too large an aircraft. If it has one available, it should just schedule a smaller (i.e. cheaper per flight km) aircraft.Norman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 5:50 pmWhile that would be nice, I think it would be commercially sensitive data that the airlines don't want each other to know about, publicly anyway.Ho Really wrote: ↑Sat Jun 15, 2019 11:22 pmNorman, thanks for posting the report year ending 2018. Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Fiji Airways is ending its direct Adelaide service from July. They will be routing customers via Melbourne on a codeshare with Qantas.
Always a shame when an international carrier exits... I guess the loads just weren't there to make it work.

One flight a week (sometimes two) was never gonna work

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Its not like Fiji is a major destination for more flights to have been added.
Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Fiji Airways offered terrible connections through Nadi. They were essentially trying to enforce a stopover when most people want to get to their destination as soon as possible.
Jetstar flew ADL - AKL once upon a time. Again it failed because of the poor timings and not connecting to QF coded onward flights from Auckland.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
As a point-to-point I really wish Air NZ (or Qantas - but that would be wishful thinking) would fly ADL - CHC. An A320 three times a week based out of Christchurch would work well, it could leave early morning and be back mid afternoon to carry on doing trips betweek CHC / WLG and AKL, and they've got existing ground staff in Adeladie servicing the Auckland flights.
