Maybe when there are lots of different blinds and levels instead of just one small block, it will look OK as a speckled random patten. It might just stand out now as one level is different.

I've come to like the visible blinds shuttered to varying degrees in buildings like the City Central precinct. It makes the building (and city) look 'lived in' during the daytime, rather than as lifeless sentinels.

Some photos from last night. The blank wall is somewhat more bearable at night.

A few pics from the Kodo Facebook page.
People should be moving in over next few weeks. Should add a fair bit of activity to that part of town.

There's a fair bit of saturation going on in those pics
Congrats on your new abode too Ben.

Sorry to say this Ben, but one new building doesn't make any difference to the vibrancy of a street.

Doesn't make ANY difference you say? So a couple hundred people living in a new building, won't make any difference to say, a local cafe across the street?

Unfortunately I see this building everyday when i walk down KWS to/from work. Whilst it looks great when viewed from the East, the Western facade is a big FAIL in terms of design. Given the fact the huge bland Western facade is highly visible from VSQ, the design should not have been approved without adequate treatment of that massive chunk of concrete - one that we will be burdened with for a very long time.
