This one seems very promising that it will end up looking as good, if not better than the renders

Thanks for all the photos. This is moving along quickly now after such a long wait for it to even commence. The new casino is so needed. Now if they could only clad the concrete sides of the intercontinental next to it in reflective glass.. it has always looked so unfinished and will really be the ugly duckling of this whole set now.
[COM] Re: SkyCity Adelaide Casino Expansion | 55m | 12 Levels | Hotel
I understand it's polarising, but actually mostly like the skyline view of the Intercontinental building but for the ugly black sign they've put on top which has interrupted the symmetry of the concrete. What I hate about the Intercontinental is its ground level integration. The forecourt is desolate and the rear is completely disconnected from the promenade/riverbank. I hope that's attended to before any other cosmetic improvements.
But this Railway Station addition is looking more promising than I had thought thanks to quality glazing, although I still don't like the extent of its intrusion into vistas of the Dunstan Playhouse. Ideally, any further expansion to the Casino should take over the Intercontinental site.

Highly reflective glazing in a curved shape always looks good. Because the sunlight and surroundings reflect at subtly different angles on each pane of glass.
The casino building will be a ripper once finished.

I’m not a fan of the design of Festival Plaza tower but if the glazing is of high quality then the area will look pretty striking.

Being a casino the lights will basically be on inside 24/7 on the lower levels, which will also impact the look of the facade.

This pic of the steps and 'water feature' is really disappointing.
Whose responsibility is it for the upkeep of the (non existent) plants?
Likewise the water cascade and fountain - what happened?!

The waterfall off the other end of the bridge, as well as the water feature in the middle of the lake, have all been off for over a month. Issues with the lights between the footbridge and KWS on the northern side path as well. Not sure what's going on, but it's not a good look, particularly when the Cabaret Festival was on.

It’s a shame as the pic really shows how striking the new casino will look behind the Festival Theatre

It's a horrendous look.Nathan wrote: ↑Thu Jul 04, 2019 7:46 pmThe waterfall off the other end of the bridge, as well as the water feature in the middle of the lake, have all been off for over a month. As far as places Adelaide should be making sure are in mint condition for major events, the Riverbank and surrounds should be pretty close to the top of the list.
