Adelaide Airport scored second spot on the Australian Airport On Time Performance list measured June 2018 to May 2019.



Not a bad achievement. We ranked 86th in the world. Mackay was 34th. Rockhampton 90th., Cairns 98th., Brisbane 101st., Canberra 103rd., Perth 112th., Sydney 385th., Gold Coast 399th., Melbourne 406th., and Hobart 411th. Now let's aim for that 5-star rating.

Anecdotally I've rarely had a delay at Adelaide, not like other airports.

Qatar to replace A350-900's with B777-300ER's on Adelaide flight from September 7th to September 30th 2019.

I’m booked on Qatar in that period for flights to Europe for a holiday and was really looking forward to the A350 for the first time. I’m returning in October so should at least get it for the return leg.

Melbourne is a one hour flight away. Would an airline like EVA Air, China Eastern, ANA/JAL, Vietnam or Thai send a plane here when they can get it fully booked from Melbourne?

Maybe they could start here and stop in Melb then go on, but airlines don't do that much anymore.

As for Qantas and Virgin, you'll have to ask them about that. We're the only mainland state capital with no direct international flights on Qantas.

Yep I've had a few with Jetstar, the last one travelling to Sydney a few months ago. Granted, I got delayed on the return trip a few days later.

Singapore Airlines will increase Adelaide over December and January.

December 2nd-30th 2019 increase to 10 a week (SQ279/278 remains daily)

Singapore Airlines has moved to restructure its national operations, which will lead to the closure of its Adelaide office by October 14. The airline confirmed its sales, marketing and administration staff, who are based in the Adelaide CBD, were briefed earlier this week about the changes and are being offered redundancy packages. About 12 Singapore Airlines staff will lose their current positions.
The move follows the airline's decision to centralise its operations to Melbourne and Sydney from October 14. "As a result of the centralisation of the sales, marketing and administrative functions, the sales office in Adelaide will be closed, with these functions to be managed by the centralised teams based in Melbourne and Sydney" Singapore Airlines' regional vice-president for South West Pacific Philip Goh said in a statement.
"The company's immediate focus is to support the staff who are affected by these changes, particularly those whose positions are redundant in the new structure.Those employees whose positions are not required in the new commercial structure will have the opportunity to apply for any internal vacancies that are available" he said. The decision to restructure does not affect Singapore Airlines' flight operations to Adelaide, he said. "We remain strongly committed to the market, which we have been proud to serve for the past 35 years." The airline said it is trying to maximise its sales efficiency and effectiveness by streamlining sales functions and creating new business support units. Singapore Airlines' 16 staff at the Adelaide Airport, overseeing airport and cargo operations, are not affected by the restructure.

Adelaide Airport chief executive Mark Young said the airline's services oversight and product development in SA won't change. "Singapore Airlines is going up to 10 services a week, they already fly daily. SA was the first in the country to get the first Singapore Airlines A350. They are simply reorganising the way in which they are covering the market place here in Australia"

I knew something was happening with Singapore Airlines as their signage was removed from that small office building on King William St near the Mall months ago. All they left was the small logo on top of the building. Not sure if it has since been removed.

A Qantas 747 (flight QFA1364) just flew past my work window on approach to Adelaide AP, (coming from Rockhampton Previous to that it flew an odd looking track from Sydney to Rockhampton this morning). Some kind of special charter flight? Not often you see a Qantas widebody gracing our skies these days...
