COM: Glenelg Tramline Upgrade
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
They did that a while for the Zone Cruiser trial, but I think they stopped that now. Must be that lack of good shows on that particular channel
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I drove past the line today, and the Victoria Square, Pirie Street and Rundle Mall stops are pretty much 100% complete. The roofs are done, all that they need is lighting as far as I know.

Thankyou greatly for the photo update. Gotta love the new median strip gardening that they have put in. Looks great to say the least. I'll be on site later on this afternoon. My normal Saturday 'shoot' got interrupted by other commitments. I had a brief look inbetween trains at City West end and there has been plenty of work since last week with things like platforms, signage, traffic lights and other bits and pieces.

Awesome photos mate. All these photo updates are really useful for those of us in other parts of the world . Just looking at that picture of the old Vicoria Square stop, I can't help but imagine what the view from there will be like when/if Currie Street goes ahead. CC1, CC2 in front, Westpac house behind and Currie St pokin out behind that. (yeah I'm a bit of dreamer).
Bit off topic, sorry guys

Thanks for all the photos Adam. I really like how King William Street looks now the tram line extension is practically completed. It looks more cosmopolitan and modern. Looking back the flagpoles and petunias whilst nice, are probaably better suited to a smaller provincial city.

Thanks Adam for all the work - particularly impressed with the KWS/Hindley Intersection - as said before by someone else - quite cosmopolitan - speaks of a city in the making - not just a backwater and poor cousin to the east. Impressed with your passion for the place - the stuff that drives visions into possibilities into action.

According to the city messenger. Training will commence anytime now and public service will commence mid October.
Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I was on site again today. Photos will be coming soon. Just worth saying though that I did make an extended trip to South Terrace because there has been some work on the layby siding which is now virtually complete. The automated point actuators (which basically means that the points can be changed from the tram instead of having the driver get out and switch the points manually with a point bar) have been installed. New tram signals controlling all movements at the south end of South Terrace stop are now installed but have yet to be activated.
