Time the RTCC and PANS-OPS gets reviewed and amended. Remember the old Hong Kong Airport.

Our Airport is no where near the CBD. Also the runway lines up with North Adelaide NOT Adelaide CBD. Hardly a skyscraper in North Adelaide.
If the CBD height was a problem at Adelaide Airport - they should have had a higher control tower and upgraded radar that caters for it. Why should the City and the States development be held back by under-funding of the Airport Infrastructure by government (I believe that the Control Tower / Radar would come under CASA or related Government Department).

Pity they also dont add a few extra floors of Apartments and a Roof Top Viewing Platform and aim for 150m+
It's more because the CBD happens to be right under an emergency flight path from Adelaide Airport. The CBD does not otherwise impact Adelaide Airport business.
Our state, our city, our future.

Agree with your overall sentiment that city development is being unreasonably held back by the current airspace height limits. A number of us are working with stakeholders to try and change this. However the details you've mentioned aren't really correct. The control tower height is not relevant and the main 'flightpaths' aren't particularly relevant either. A range of flight procedures need to be reviewed and amended in order to achieve increased height in the city. The industry is working on this. Although there is widespread support for change, it is a very long process.
I would appreciate any thoughts/info people might have on the possible crane strategy for 75KW.
Trying not to read much between the lines in this about another CBD development. ;)

It is more complex than any discussion on this forum. I have spent the last 18 months working through the airspace requirements in relation to Adelaide CBD, along with a team of specialists. We're working towards achieving change, but patience is required. Numerous stakeholders are involved.

Time to see the look of the city change!

If this proposal were to happen, hoping the northern wall abutting the neighbour won't become another blank concrete slab

I like the look of it but it’s another render that leaves a lot of room to be deceiving. What are all the colour panels? Is the glass so see through we will see the curtains? Is there various colours in the glass?

Will be a fantastic day when the wrecking ball meets the current POS building.

Absolutely. The location is at the very core of the commercial district and the current hideosity is an embarrassment. As is the building across the road (National Mutual) not to mention the row of dischevilled low rise rubbish running north of that building along KW st to Rundle Mall. The sooner all of these visual blights are removed the better.

And to think the current POS building replaced one of Adelaide's most beautiful bank buildings, like you I'll be glad to this this go.

Yep, 60's and 70's has a lot to answer for.

Was the building on the left I think?

I feel like our cbd has lots of poor architecture from all eras. And then some beautiful exceptions.

When we get a few real talls nearing 200+ with some stunning design, I think our cbd will be quite the wonderful cluster f😉ck

Yeah, that's the one! I'm not entirely sure when it was bulldozed but like you said, somewhere around the 50s/60s. Here's a shot of the whole building...
