Yes, i think it needs a revamp. At the moment, that arcade is used mainly as a shortcut to get to the mall or the carpark.
edit: on another note, i ran into steve waugh in the forementioned arcade today. he was on his way to dymocks for a book signing today. lol .. seems like a nice bloke. thought he'd take a back entrance, surprising not mot many ppl recognised him there.

Actually I have just remembered that Renaissance Arcade is located more to the rear of the heritage listed Ruthven Mansion. I am now pretty sure that this development will not touch Ruthven Mansion, except maybe a revamp of the plaza, which is welcome in my opinion. I think this proposed building will front Austin Street.

Has this project got anything to do with the Toys R Us building because I was walking down the mall yesterday and I am quite sure that building is the Renaissance Plaza. That building needs 2 be bulldozed! Adelaide's most grotesque by far.

Sorry about that. I now know what is being refered to as the Renaissance arcade. But... I'm looking forward 2 any development being carried out on the disgusting Toys r us building. I cant believe it still looks like that after all these years!

I don't know whether this is related or not, but from North Terrace, I saw that there was a large 'closing down' sign located at the entrance of Renaissance Arcade.

There was an indian clothing store that had a closing sign, also a the picture/framing shop had a closing sign. Now the signs are gone, so business as usual for them? Was going to ask them if they knew anything of the development.

You wouldn't think he would go all the way to China for a 20st building ... and they did originally say it was going to be the tallest residential building so who knows maybe 100m + either that or i'm making a mountain out of a mole hill, which is quite probable.

You're right it's not just about the 20 storey. Harbison and his delegation will be going to Hong Kong and to Chinese cities of Chengdu and Tianjin to pitch Adelaide as a place to do business and study. The delegation will also including members of the Hong Kong Australia Business Association, and they'll depart on the 26th November.... so yeah still a while away.
The groups looking to invest in the city included the group who proposed the 20storey building, they are one of several groups apparently.

Look at the last car on the left, the middle section of the building, the highest unit on top, there are a bunch of perverts living there
Almost every afternoon around 4-5, they will be sitting on the balcony, spotting on the university girls that walk pass Target - Centrelink. Sometimes, they would even whistling at those girls.
