I would just like to know, when pumping concrete to 3+ levels and more.... how is it done??
I work in heavy industry, but not construction. Is it passed directly from a truck, or into a tank/hopper and then pumped up?
Is it even pumped, or a screw-feeder type set-up used?

Well Spotted Pikey, I have just been through the images I grabbed yesterday and the core rise happened about 4pm.normh wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 11:05 pmYeah I saw them only pouring the concrete for the core yesterday, well what I really saw was the big white boom thing moving around inside the slider and assumed that is what they were doing, I didn't go around to Porters Lane to see if there were any concrete trucks.

Segment on 9 news tomorrow about realm and adelaidean race to the top.
[COM] Re: Renaissance Arcade | 132m | 40 Levels | Realm Apartments
By my count, the core of Adelaidean can't have more than 3 to go before top out. Race is done and dusted.

Typical news media. Sensationalism aimed at ignorant people. Anyhow hope it's a positive story with a good outlook on other city developments. Perhaps also an advertisement for any apartments not already sold.
Cheers

Could someone post a video of the news segment. I'm a Melbournian I probably won't see it otherwise haha.
I am keen on the developments in Adelaide, in Melbourne we take for granted our tall skyline.

Goodsy thanks for posting the link. Saw it live. A bit of an anticlimax. Only towards the end they mention Adelaidean's height etc. Hopefully what was said about even taller buildings in the future does become reality.
Cheers

Thanks for the video link. There's an exceptionally good view of the skyline in the last part of the video which I've screeen-captured below. With Adelaidean, Realm and Spire and soon to be Sofitel there's an increasing sense of verticality in Adelaide's skyline at long last starting to replace the stumpy boxy look that's dominated for around 50 years now...exciting times

I just hope we get a new flux of development because after this, Realm and Sofitel are done, there isn’t anything major starting. There are a few proposals floating around but nothing seems to be moving.
Is it me or was there a lot more activity when the labour government were in charge? This is due to the stamp duty, is that correct?

Cheers for the link. Impressive Adelaide, these towers are impressive, especially Realm. Though the blue glazing on Frome St will look good in summer.
