Those pictures really say all this. That station should definitely be an extreme example, but even a station is actually quite unacceptable to get worse in that situation.

Three of Adelaide’s most notorious intersections are set to get a $102 million facelift.
Scotty’s corner — the intersection of Main North Road and Nottage Terrace — is in for a $19 million upgrade, while work will also take place to fix the intersection of Main North, Kings and McIntyre Rd.
Another problem northern suburbs intersection — of Grand Junction, Hampstead and Briens Rds — is in line for a facelift as part of the State Budget cash splash.
Infrastructure Minister Stephan Knoll said the three intersections were some of the most congested in Adelaide’s north, clogged with up to 78,000 vehicles per day.
“Aside from being major arterial roads for the public, they are also key routes for freight travelling through to the north of the city,” he said.
Mr Knoll said the Scotty’s corner plan was for an extra right-hand turn lane to be added on Main North Rd into Nottage Tce, and extend the Main North Rd bus lane.
Fixes for the other intersections have not yet been identified but Mr Knoll said early planning works would start immediately.
The Federal Government has matched the State Government’s $51 million commitment.

It’s convenient that the original timeline of August 2019 for completion of Stage 1 & 2 review for Globelink SA has quietly been shifted out to 'late 2019’, according to the DPTI website.
Even stranger is the lack of news updates on the extended timeline...
Maybe the State Liberal Party should have engaged stakeholders BEFORE they announced their vision before the election in 2018 rather than after, some major stakeholders only got their chance to put forward their input earlier this year (2019).
Maybe they didn’t like most of the feedback, and are going to have water down the idea to something more acceptable?
Main opposition appears to be against building a new freight airport, the road bypass seems to have less support than a SE FW to NS MW upgraded road connection, the railway line seems to be the one issue most recognise as the biggest item need resolving in the medium term.
Are we going to see a watered down Globelink plan at the end of 2019? Of will the review timeline keep getting pushed out to avoid public scrutiny?

I hope that at least the northern end of the road is built - a highway bypass around Truro and down to the Murray plains. That would improve the safety in the town and on the road. That would become part of the Sturt Highway as well as part of the Globelink Highway, with the junction on the eastern side of the range.
The railway proposal isn't really new - having old newspapers online reveals all sorts of interesting issues, such as the 1912 proposal to extend the railway to Nuriootpa through Truro (that much happened in 1917) and Steinfeld to Sedan. Nuriootpa to Truro opened in 1917 and Monarto to Sedan in 1919, but Sedan to Truro was never built (yet?). http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article210017369
A diversion airport only an hour's bus ride from Adelaide would have been handy on the foggy morning last week, but we only get one or two of those a year. I imagine if it existed, it would get used, but I have difficulty seeing it could be used enough to justify what I imagine would be the cost, especially if it is to be an international airport.

Augusta Hwy duplication to Port Augusta
Dukes Hwy duplication to Vic border
Sturt Hwy duplication past Truro to the plains
As the funds become available work on sections of the last three at the same time, there should be a steady flow of extension work on an ongoing basis, extending each in duplicated form further and further away from Adelaide as works progress., opening sections at a time.

I frequently drive this road, and this new upgrade will make a huge difference, especially peak periods.

So they've abandoned both of these projects, one of which they used to slaughter the previous government in the media and the other being one of their biggest election promises. What have this government actually delivered on from their election promises? Let's not forget that instead of funding further tram network works, they're instead privatising the operations of the tram and train network.
