Was driving towards the city down Main North Road today and this sticks out nicely.

These new buildings are making all the other buildings in the city looks really small.

They're both in fairly low areas, Adelaidean especially. Both would stand out as much as Westpac does if they were in the CBD centre, which is considerably but not hugely.

My mail is that this will be topping out next week. If this is true then we're only been waiting 35 years for this week
to come lol. Old mate will be happy. He's been waiting a while.

Westpac House was completed in 1988.

Although I realise in the scheme of things, 31 vs 35 years is not significant, I feel that if you are going to attack Adelaide, you may as well have your facts correct.

Looking over the plans again there is still another two setback floors to go above the current highest floor plate. Still a while to go until top out.
Walking on over....

that's what I was thinking, from my view near my place it looks well below the height of westpac house. surely ground level at frome st isn't that much lower than curry st

Yes that ground is lower.

Looking from around 10km away, the current crane height looks like it matches the top of the Westpac antennae, which is the same level as the RTCC.

My theory (could be wrong) is that they've built up to current height in concrete and now getting everything in place for the crane to pop up above the RTCC. They will then build as fast as they can (probably in steel as it's faster) in order to complete the top of the building and bring the crane down within a 3-month window, as this is the typical length of time permitted to breach the RTCC or PANS-OPS with a construction crane. This is just a theory and could be completely wrong. It seems weird to me that the core has stopped and the floorplates have caught up - this is the only explanation I can come up with.

Westpac is at 68m above sea level. Adelaidean is at 53m. That's a significant difference in height.

I am fairly sure those numbers are not correct. The data I've seen has street level adjacent Westpac at approx 44mAHD and street level adjacent Adelaidean at approx 41mAHD. So only a few metres difference. We may be comparing different things though.
