[COM] 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl | Wingfold Tower

Wingfold rising up over Light Square, which itself is starting to get a sense of being enclosed by cityscape on all sides. But alas what a tired old square it is - it lacks a coherent theme or sense of structure and it seems like nothing has really changed since the 80's. Even a stronger planting scheme could help redeem it. Well and truly time for a makeover IMO

It's still a much more pleasant square than Hindmarsh, which is truly awful excepting the corners closest Rundle. Ultimately I think the masterplan recently approved for Whitmore Square should become a template for all the others.Adelarch wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2019 7:50 pmWingfold rising up over Light Square, which itself is starting to get a sense of being enclosed by cityscape on all sides. Drove past this yesterday and the facade is appearing. Nice dark glass too.

A close up view in Waymouth St. Picture 19/10/2019. There is the ground floor then 2 &3 are set back then 4 & 5 at street front then 6,7 & 8 set back then 9-14 at street front . The core is at about level 18 or 19. There are some changes in floor plate sizes also on east side . All adds a bit of interest. Click on picture for bigger.

People who bought apartments on the western side of this building are not going to be happy campers having their views blocked out from day one and living in a state of eternal darkness during the daytime because of shadow of the student development that has gone up next door at the same time. I know this is the price and consequence you pay for living in the city, but I think these buyers probably weren't expecting it to happen so quickly. Unfortunate timing.

This is now a serviced apartment/hotel. All buyers were refunded their deposits when u2 went under. But yes that is a risk when buying in the cbd.

It would have to be now. The building of the student accommodation has ruined the western views of apartments from about 5/6 to 15/16. Owner occupiers would have been staring at blank walls!.

The core of this must have just about topped out by now ?
[COM] Re: 114 Waymouth Street | 78m | 26lvl | Wingfold Tower
No the core is only at level 20 so it still has 6 more levels to go.
