Wow, there couldn't be a bigger contrast between this beast and the hotel right next to it. It's like an alien spaceship has just landed. Shame the proposed festival plaza office tower wont have the same type of curved glass exterior, as that would have been a seamless pairing in this part of the skyline, creating an even more spectacular view when viewed from this angle.

Since it is mirrored glass won't it reflect light onto the Playhouse and the plaza?

Riding past everyday, I still feel it really crowds on the Dunstan Playhouse. Needed to be have just a bit more space between the two, particularly near the footbridge.

Doesn't it face north and in low winter sunlight? Just a clarification.
Cheers

From today. This is looking even better from a distance.

This is starting to look really striking when travelling south along King WIlliam Road.

Yeah, I was passing along there just after sunset and it looked great. Wouldn't even mind the Walker tower if it could look as well made as this.ChillyPhilly wrote: ↑Tue Nov 05, 2019 3:05 pmThis is starting to look really striking when travelling south along King WIlliam Road.

One or both of the cranes must be close to coming down. Looks like this would be completed before September soft launch next year but I suppose the fitout will be extensive.

While taking these snaps, I was lucky enough to catch one of the roof framework pieces being lowered into place.

If only it was built twice as high... and they could demolish the old Hyatt (now Intercontinental).

If only this was on the site of the InterContinental/Riverside Centre/Plenary building, the area would look so much tidier and less cluttered.how good is he wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 11:11 pmIf only it was built twice as high... and they could demolish the old Hyatt (now Intercontinental).
