Looks like we may have a new crane before Christmas after all.

Yes Ben is right about the crane base at Penny place.. well spotted. Judging by the spacing of the legs this base is for a larger Favco crane (non electric).

How would it make sense economically to fly construction workers in from Melbourne and pay for them to stay in hotels when you could easily and cheaply source them locally instead?
If they're Fifo, on long-term (1 year) contracts, it's more likely they're housed in dongas in a caravan park than in a hotel. Unless it's a pub-style hotel with rooms and a shared bathroom (stayed in plenty of them myself when doing field work), or a cheap motel (stayed in plenty of them too) with a deal done for guaranteeing occupancy for a year or so.
They're still expensive. All accommodation in Australia is ridiculously expensive. Even an unpowered site in a caravan park could upwards of $50 at the wrong time of year.

Low-skilled workers are cheaper by the dozen in Adelaide. I can't see why it would ever be worthwhile for construction companies to import them and pay for the associated expenses.

Maybe it would make sense to bring over workers with particular in-demand skills, but I'd be surprised if there are many areas of construction for which Adelaide is totally lacking in worker skills.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know if Flagship bought this property? Would probably compliment Kodo and Penny Place well as apartments around the 40-50m mark, though I guess would also obstruct views from Kodo's southern side.

This building is a pretty 'meh' design. It's saving grace may be that it doesn't present as a blank wall to the west? Might not be enough when it's all said and done though.
