A friend and I were sitting at The Kings Hotel having a beer this afternoon and noticed how noisy the crane was at Penny Place when it moved around. Why is that? We were debating as to whether it was diesel or electric

I have also noticed this walking past. The loudest crane by far I’ve heard.

So every time the crane moves it sounds like an engine revving up. Gray Street was worse with two of them going at the same time.

Can confirm: crane is loud as hell.

That crane looks like a Favelle Favco M380, a diesel crane, and yes, they're not quiet!

Also the Realm crane is on its way down for removal this weekend.
