From yesterday, going under the Flinders rail bridge. Wasn't as impressive looking as I thought it might be from below, but still extremely happy they have decided to extend the line.

I think it's still due to have a sort of cover over the bridge which will provide shade for the pedestrian link and also look a bit nicer when you're driving over.

Span 4 (adjacent to Police station) girders are being installed today.

Black vertical supports for screens have been fitted to Spans 5 & 10.

All bridge segments are now in place. Work continues on bridge as well as landscaping on Sturt Road.

Looks like 1 segment is still missing.

There certainly is one segment still missing.
The span across Laffer dr is up, with the concrete floor panels now being installed on the girders as I write this.
Here's the poorly shot view from my office!

nice shot - guess you will be able to make an informed comment on how good the acoustic treatment is for the trains from that office!

It’s been pretty awesome from an infrastructure POV to watch the whole thing. From a noise / disturbance POV - not so! 😆
Interesting project. Not to mention the whole Darlington thing right there too.
I don’t get a chance to post a lot but I’ll try more as both head towards finishing.

One thing though - sections of the concrete panels that sit on the orange girders have bits broken off them. Obviously not structural problems but aesthetic - will they fix them?

I hope the Flinders extension is built properly especially the viaduct as the project is built by Gateway South whom is responsible for failures with the Darlington project. The Flinders Link didnt even go through the proper tender process it was handed to Gateway South.
