The 44x, 45x and 46x routes sound fairly much as they are now. Doesn't seem to be a significant change in the coverage area for new developments.adelaide transport wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 1:11 pmLots of routes will disappear. Other routes will be dramatically changed. Also quite a few through routing changes. Total new Route numbers for majority of routes.

Looks like 441 and 442 might do a bit of switcheroo.SBD wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:25 pmThe 44x, 45x and 46x routes sound fairly much as they are now. 441 via Anderson Walk, Main North Road, Craigmore Road, Somerset Grove, Uley Road, Blair Park Drive, Yorktown Road, Philip Highway, Playford Boulevard, Oxenham Drive, Elizabeth Way, Elizabeth Station. 442 via Warooka Drive, George McCullman Road, Main North Road, Uley Road, Adams Road, Yorktown Road, Midway Road, Kinkaid Road, Yorktown Road, Highway, Playford Boulevard, Oxenham Drive, Elizabeth
Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
I don't use them very often, and can't remember the exact routes. 442 (I think) currently covers Seaview Drive and Turner Drive between Midway Road and Blair Park Drive (Starting from Elizabeth). 441 covers Main Terrace and Springvale Drive north of Craigmore Road. I haven't looked at maps as it won't affect me much, but if they don't include new extensions, that is a contraction on the current service area, rather than extending further into new developments.Eurostar wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 8:42 pmLooks like 441 and 442 might do a bit of switcheroo.SBD wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2020 7:25 pmThe 44x, 45x and 46x routes sound fairly much as they are now. Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
And it looks like with the proposed new simplified bus numbering system the practice of Adelaide buses changing their numbers as they enter the CBD will be abandoned in favour of one number for the entire route......from end to end.
And I have got to say....finally.
Hopefully the new numbering system will be consistent and simple.
The practice of one route, two numbers (along with inconsistent numbers and prefixes) makes the bus system overly complicated to use and also goes against best practice in the rest of the world.
I am not against losing all letters though, "N" and "X" can stay as they are universally used (in the western world) for night and express buses.

Most should just go back to their old number or similar.PeFe wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 11:09 amAnd it looks like with the proposed new simplified bus numbering system the practice of Adelaide buses changing their numbers as they enter the CBD will be abandoned in favour of one number for the entire route......from end to end.

For example:
H30 back to 104 and 130. 104 should throughlink with 117/118
H32 back to 133
H33 back to 102 and 138. 102 should throughlink with 117/118
H20 back to 125 and 135
H21 back to 126
H22 back to 122 and 130
H24 back to 124
C1 & J1 back to T530
C2 & J2 to T532
J7 to 347
G10 back to 210 and 180
G20 back to 218
G21 back to 212
G22 back to 219
G30 back to 217
G40 to T216 and 540
M44 back to 544 and 244
W90 back to 290 and 297
W91 back to 291 and 296

Sorry Eurostar I think you are out of luck New system long overdue is far less complicated with 1 number for each route end to end.
Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
These are the buses I use to get into and out of the city each day, and it looks like they won't exist anymore if I'm reading that list right. So I'll be up to 3 bus trips to work, 3 bus trips home each day, as I catch the Obahn up to TTP after reaching Grenfell.

The on demand service is a good idea. Should be expanded more.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
It looks like this will become one of the intermodal routes. At the moment the G20/G21/G22 run Aberfoyle Hub to Flinders then on to Goody Road into town, the 320 runs Aberfoyle to Flinders to Marion S/C. The proposed replacement routes from Aberfoyle all go via Flinders with one express bus to Flinders:NTRabbit wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 7:35 pmThese are the buses I use to get into and out of the city each day, and it looks like they won't exist anymore if I'm reading that list right. - 64 Aberfoyle Hub – Marion
- 64X Aberfoyle Hub – Flinders
- 65 Marion – Blackwood – Aberfoyle Hub
- 66 Marion – Aberfoyle Hub
As someone who lives in the area I've been waiting for Flinders train station to open so that I can do precisely this.

No bus on South Rd from that map. Surely the 719 is staying.

Yes-19 will operate City via South Road to Marion Shopping Centre and Hallett Cove Beach Station,OlympusAnt wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 10:37 pmNo bus on South Rd from that map. Surely the 719 is staying.
20 will operate via South Road to Marion Shopping Centre-Hallett Cove and Old Reynella Interchange.
Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
Reading that last post.....why not make the 19 a 8 minute daytime frequency and then make the 20 run from Marion to Old Reynella only.
Why is the point of having 2 different bus routes?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses
15 minutes is an adequate frequency to Marion. Maybe the new 19 will still go via Flinders Uni and FMC?
