That's a shame. Really want to watch this one go up.

I dare say this will be the first of a few for Adelaide. It's a shame, though, I see this section of Currie Street really in need of some rejuvenation through these kinds of developments.

Is it safe to guess that all the hotels not yet started are probably on hold indefinitely?

I think it's pretty safe.
Even the ones under construction are likely to have their opening dates postponed now....

I quite like the art deco building that's currently on the site, so I wouldn't be too sad if this one didn't go ahead. The design is pretty average and 92m isn't particularly exciting anymore.
Unless they're doing the old "demolish the buildings on site and leave an empty lot for years" that we've seen a fair bit in recent years.
I went past 266 Pulteney Street last week and if I'm not mistaken, it didn't look like anything was happening on the site. That one's part accommodation so perhaps that'll be the first "hotel" development that is delayed that definitely would have gone ahead otherwise.

Let's hope not. Although you'd think 266 Pultney would be slightly better insulated due to it's proximity to the Calvary hospital.slenderman wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 7:20 pmI quite like the art deco building that's currently on the site, so I wouldn't be too sad if this one didn't go ahead. A bit of a shame even though I wasn't a fan of the design. I am just desperate to see Currie Street redevelop, and it'd be nice to have a QT in Adelaide.

I still think the art deco former car display building should be retained and done up. Its actually a really nice building and there are hardly any art-deco buildings left in Adelaide. A new building could easily be built behind it or even hanging over the top of it a bit too. Just my 2 cents
