Sounds good.
Here's hoping we get a thought provoking design out of this one.

26 floor residential tower is making its mark at about 80-85m tall. Sounds pretty fucken sweet if ya ask me. Should add some fantastic density if ahead, given close proximity to CC1 and Waymouth precient.

3 levels will be underground, so really its 23 levels high - which is still a great height

momentkiller did you read my initial post in this thread? I said: "Height to the 22nd storey floor is 69.3 metres (building's overall height probably around the 73 metre mark)." No way 80-85metres.momentkiller wrote:26 floor residential tower is making its mark at about 80-85m tall. Sounds pretty fucken sweet if ya ask me. In yesterday's Advertiser (Saturday, September 15) in a sidebar titled ADELAIDE'S NEW WEST to the article New City units for overseas students it was acknowledged the project will have 250 apartments. Other details are yet to be announced.

No news. I can only speculate they are waiting for the right time to release the project. The two towers will be of the same height but one will be larger. I am hoping the apartments are competitively priced compared to those currently planned and being built.

The Architect is actively working the plans. Will be 2 x 22 storey towers. Adjacent to Queens Theatre. Massive Penthouse apartment on top of each tower across 2 levels. Ground floor will have retail shops. A few lower storey's will have offices. Underground parking.
No renders available.
Expecting to submit for DA in late-2008.

Wayno, thanks for doing the digging... The good thing is it's coming up later this year. From what I saw back last year at this time it will have a lot of glass balustraded balconies. I love the idea of covering the Queens threatre with a canopy. Hopefully the developer/architects throw us a rendering sometime soon to give us a taste. I also hope they retain the 22 storey height which should be what I saw (23 levels above ground).

Gasp! That sounds very promising - twin 22-storey towers! The fact that they are primarily residential means no more slabs of underwhelming green glass, either. What would be a reasonable estimate of height? I too can't wait to see some renders for this.Wayno wrote:Well i hate to disappoint so i did some digging and here's the latest:Ho Really wrote:Wayno, when I saw your name on the index page I thought there was some news. I had no idea how old the Queen's Theatre was, either - constructed in late 1840 and opened in 1841.
