There's definitely a core box going on in there. Saw the crane lifting in a caged staircase (usually attached to the core box) on Monday.

Maybe your eyesight is better than mine, but it's hard to determine the material finish from a render that looks like it was done on a 3DFX Voodoo

They look like massing renders, not finishing renders. They may have been designed to show more technical detail rather than finish or materialistic details.
