Retail space.

That's optimistic for any business that sets up there considering on weekdays there probably won't be much foot traffic going that way.

There in lies the problem with this whole area. They're trying to emulate what has been successfully achieved in Melbourne with the Crown and South Bank precinct for instance, but they seem to ignore the fact that there isn't the demand for retail in this area because outside of game day or events at the Dustan Playhouse there isn't much reason for any foot traffic to go down that way other than maybe the odd person outside of game day or heading to see Adelaide Oval in the flesh. Even once Festival Plaza is complete, there still won't be any reason to go through that tunnel outside of aforementioned event days. Honestly, whether people want to admit this or not, this whole precinct is one big design and business case fuck up, and in 30-years time, they'll likely be bulldozing parts of it and starting all over again. Seems to be the Adelaide way, nothing is ever built right from the get-go.

I think we should stop over analysing the situation and give the area a chance to evolve, it's barely finished and we are already trying to compare it to somewhere else. This is uniquely ours lets embrace it and make it work.

Heading back to the train station over the bridge after the pageant, there was one disappointing aspect to the expansion — how obvious you can see the pokie machines through the glass at night. Very tacky.

We will know where we stand as a state tomorrow when the “new cases” is published. I think we are ok and this is not as bad as first thought. Or as the media is streaming.
Best case scenario 0 new cases which I think will not be the case.
Worst case is 20 new cases. I’m predicting 4 new cases meaning this date will remain the same

Not sure why they couldn't have incorporated escalators into the Casino from the station tunnel... And then left the stairs the way they are.

Probably due to the surge of people exiting Adelaide Oval over the footbridge after events, many of whom previously went that way to avoid the railway station. The tunnel is potentially a bottleneck which the escalators might reduce in their present location.

They do have a set of escalators from inside the game day tunnel to ground floor gaming area on ground floor of the the expansion building also
