[COM] SAHMRI Stage 2
[COM] Re: SAHMRI Stage 2
Been a while since I posted a photo of the site, but here's what it looks like today. Not a lot of visual progress over the last couple of months although the bunker is fully excavated now. If I had to guess, it looks like the current focus for the last few weeks has been making sure the walls are all sealed up - either to prevent groundwater getting in, or liquid waste seeping out into the groundwater once the facility is operational (or both).

I read that the building will be complete in 2023 August with people moved in on the upper floors but the equipment in the bunker basement takes until to 2025 to get operational and tested before patients can use it.citywatcher wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 11:29 pmCrane base has been in for months
Very slow going
2025 completion date and started early 2020

The crane base has been there since 14/11/2020. i thought the crane would have been installed before last Christmas.

That would be an expensive undertaking to have the crane and crew there for such a long time and not being utilised as they mainly have been digging. That crane base and associated piles / footing probably had to go in the same time as the wall piling so the rig didn’t need to come back. Now it’s probably a waiting game for it to go up in line with the reinforcement starting. There must be a 2nd crane or mobiles will be used as I can’t see a single crane in that location servicing the whole building.
I think all the remediation is now complete, why else would the entire site be capped with concrete? That mothball smell is gone toocitywatcher wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 12:12 pmI think they found issues they weren't expecting

A friend of mine will be working there soon.
He got inducted recently. Apparently the remediation was completed in April nearly 5 months ahead of schedule!

The support crane lowered one of the tower segments down into the worksite late in the afternoon. Not sure if they are going to use it to start building a second tower or they were out of time today & are just storing it overnight down there.
