I was going to say that the tennis court doesn't look like its from our state, not to mention how awful the placement of the casino is in the photos.Algernon wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 8:02 pmdafuq is with the copy paste of one of the outdoor courts of Melbourne Park smack bang in the middle of the plazaStryker wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 12:06 pmInteresting article.

I know theyre trying to make it look like Fed Square but I highly doubt there would be that amount of foot traffic that is being shown in those pictures unless there were venders and other things drawing people to the space. Rundle St and Pulteney St "centrepoint" intersection would be a great place to create a shibuya-esque crossing or a floating plaza at the Adelaide Railway Station / Tram section crossing would a better option.

Years ago, there was a plan for North Tce to be underground between Morphett and King William Streets.HiTouch wrote:I know theyre trying to make it look like Fed Square but I highly doubt there would be that amount of foot traffic that is being shown in those pictures unless there were venders and other things drawing people to the space. It also looks to me like the main entrance to Festival Tower is facing the train station rather than the plaza. If that’s true people can get off a bus, tram or train and enter the tower without ever being drawn around to the plaza itself. I wonder if they’re considering more ways to encourage passing trade for any businesses setting up there?HiTouch wrote:I know theyre trying to make it look like Fed Square but I highly doubt there would be that amount of foot traffic that is being shown in those pictures unless there were venders and other things drawing people to the space.

My understanding is that Flinders Uni will have its own entrance facing the railway station, while the entrance to the remainder of the office floors will be via the plaza. The plans may have been revised, but that was what I remember.

They look absolutely fine to me. I've never understood the controversy of these things.

Those outdoor escalators will have frequent breakdowns and callouts during their lifetime.
[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Redevelopment | $800 million
This is Adelaide, so there is a good chance they'll end up being permanently out of order, with a rent-a-fence at either end for a few years, until a future state govt inevitably pays for them to be removed as part of the next half-arsed attempt to upgrade the riverbank and festival plaza.

yes, temporary only. Mostly likely preparing the base for the large crane going up.
