Thoughts??
Absolutely love them! Outdoor escalators bring a sense of class and character to an area, a different unique feel. Needs to be a lot more of them.

Apparently it was Walker who didn't like the trees - despite them being exactly as spec'd and clearly dormant and bound when planted so not a great representation of their actual form. I think a different variety is now being sourced - I'm not sure what but if I hear I'll update.

Surely outdoor escalators are built for being outside so don't breakdown any more than indoor ones?

Unfortunately not really, they're just broken rust buckets.

What I like most about this development is that it will cover up most of what’s behind it.

Also, have they competed the revamp of festival plaza, outside of the tower? If so, what do you guys think of it?

I walked past yesterday and they look to be making fairly quick progress on the surrounding areas with some landscaping complete. Looked okay but hard to say until more is done.

Thanks for the update. I plan on being in Adl in May-ish and can’t wait to see the changes to the city whilst I’ve been gone :)

Pretty sure the landscaping/paving/water feature component will be finished before Fringe, or at least that’s what was promised.

Yep, it is! You can see the work that is going on in the core, getting ready to commence with the slip form.
Walking on over....

Does the construction of the tower at Festival Plaza need it’s own thread?
