Zara’s had its eye on the current Woolworths Rundle Mall spot for a while and Woolworths has been looking for a new CBD location. I wouldn’t be surprised if Woolies went to the new Charter Hall development on King William St and Zara moved in.
I kinda always hoped that the Woolworths site could be incorporated into a redevelopment of the old Gallerie arcade, so that the Mall gains a stronger connection through to North Terrace (and Gawler Place). I wonder if Commercial & General has their eye out.

What about the old Harris Scarfe Site? Couldn't Zara move into there?

Harris Scarfe was destined to fail due to the lack of street level store frontage. There's no way Zara would move in there.

Unsure if it’s been confirmed before now, but Rebel Myer Centre has closed to relocate to the new mall store.

As Kermit once said; "It's not easy being green!"

After 9 years, the Rundle Place Newsagency will close for good very soon, hence the shelves and racks 70% empty.
Newsagents are gradually becoming a thing of the past as today's generations prefer to read the news online. A better way to conserve wood reserves (the ingredient for paper making) and so making our planet happier.

Interesting as they seem to be quite busy especially with lotto. I think Rundle Mall Plaza Newsagent is the only one left in Rundle Mall now then? They always seem to be busy with their large gift range, rare DVDs and Adelaide's largest range of newspapers (only place left that stocks all rural SA newspapers).

There's still one at City Cross.

Most of the stores on the Rundle Mall end have been boarded up, some advertising the development.

I went to a newsagent/post office at a shopping centre in the burbs this week, the magazine section racks were only one-third full … the rest of the space had crossword puzzle books randomly scattered to fill the empty racks. Sign of the times unfortunately. It’s only a matter of time before magazines will be a things of the past.

There's also a newsagent in the Myer Centre.

Technically the Rundle Place newsagent still exists. They've set up a very rough looking popup in the middle of the foodcourt where the yum cha place used to be. Pretty much for lotto and metro card, and a very small selection of newspapers.
