I believe this is the parcel of land bounded by Main South Rd, Aldinga Beach Rd, How Rd and Quinliven Rd.
Labor also have a policy of aligning Aldinga and Aldinga Beach Roads into a single intersection with Main South Rd as part of the FCA package. This will need some of the "reserved" land.

Maybe. Maybe not. Just so long as they don't turn the Ouer Harbor line into a tram line. That was literally the worst idea in the history of transportation.

Yeah that makes it way to complicated. The idea is to get as many services and people on the train in peak. There should be at least 8 tph in peak direction, maybe 3 run express. Simple timetables work the best.

Skip stop sucks and 30 min frequency is shit in interpeak. It's either increase the frequency to 6 tph and have an all stops and express alternating OR 4 tph all stops. The only issue is not all trains can go to Gawler Central. I think all stops 4 tph is the way to go. Over time you will see a change in demand, people will start to use the smaller stations because they will have a good frequency.

The trouble is that stopping all stops is waaaay slower. Even with the electrics, the design is for higher maximum speed rather than acceleration (although hopefully better than the diesels).

So, it's a question of do people want a fast service with a complicated timetable? Or a much slower service, but more frequent at the smaller stations and simpler to grasp?

That's it. Choose one. Faster, or simpler. But we can't have both.

Noticed that some of the smaller train stations received a freshen up before the trains started running on the Gawler line again.

Dudley Park got some new paint, signs, a lot of cleaning and new lighting.
Has made a big difference.

Shame that a lot got tagged within a day of it opening again...

The tagging again needs to be jumped on. Every few years it seems to get out of hand, as whoever is responsible for monitoring and apprehending the grafiti gangs loses interest- or funding or whatever and it goes into the too hard basket. Left unattended what seems like a victimless crime leads to other crime, and a lack of respect for public property and the feeling that the system in general is unsafe for regular patrons. This problem is by no means confined to Adelaide, but there does seem to be an increase in lack of respect in general in the public domain.

Fuck, I ride over that pedestrian crossing every day. They've set it up for those new active crossings with the gates and siren, but they're still not actually working. It would be easy to think it's safe to cross currently when it's not (especially if the train is outbound at night, as you don't really see them coming around the bend until they're quite close to the crossing.)

It would be easy to think it's safe to cross currently when it's not (especially if the train is outbound at night, as you don't really see them coming around the bend until they're quite close to the crossing.)

If a new set of traffic lights is installed, but they're not yet active, signs are typically placed on the pole covering the light to clearly indicate that the lights are not in use. I would hope that something similar would be done at a yet to be commissioned active crossing..

A pedestrian in a pedestrian/cyclist vs. train incident is much more vulnerable than a car vs. car scenario.

There was, but not maintained. Most of the signs have fallen off, and the black plastic and tape around the lights has been destroyed by the weather.

The infrastructure for that active crossing has been set up ready to go for about 4 years now. Are they ever going to get around to completing it?

Apparently an investigation is underway to work out if there are "deficiencies" with the rail crossing (From the InDaily/10 news report). I'd say, "not finished" is a pretty big deficiency.
