Excellent. This sort of high quality development is exactly what this site deserves and it's fantastic to see Mercato setting up shop there.nath91 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 4:55 pmMercato to open their second Adelaide store as the flagship tenant in this complex.

Where does the spoil get carted to? Transport and dumping of "waste" dirt/rock can be expensive.

I think ResourceCo bought the low lying land at Dry Creek / Gillman with the plan on building it up with as much fill as they can manage.
I'm sure they would still charge a small fortune to take it away but they put it to good use so maybe good deals can be struck.

The perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP?
I know excavating the basement is Site Works, but there are four ground level columns at the Southern end which have been poured. You can see one of these in EBG's photo from this morning

I was on site there the other week and noticed them as I was heading to the site offices from the bottom of the hole. I'm not 100% across why these four particular columns have been poured but there's obviously a reason!Pikey wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 2:43 pmGood pick up, just changed it to U/CSouthAussie94 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 23, 2022 10:55 amThe perennial question, should this be UC rather than SWP?

Those columns would be external columns located on the perimeter of the building, founded on the boundary basement retaining wall instead of to a pad footing or pile at the lowest basement level. Doing it this way allows the building to maximise the space in the upper floors of the building to the site boundary.SouthAussie94 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 10:21 amI was on site there the other week and noticed them as I was heading to the site offices from the bottom of the hole. Lecornu"s furniture show room closed in 1985 and the whole site was cleared in 1990 so it has been vacant for 32 years.

Construction has definitely started with piling under way on the actual building footings on the south eastern area. also a close up of the 4 columns at the southern end.( i am not sure of the function of these columns).
