Maybe they're pushing for 200m
Most certainly the maximum height allowable which seems to be 187 metres.

Drove past and saw some men in hard hats and fluorescent vests inspecting the site with what looked like paper scrolls in their hands.
There is movement!

I think I saw them as well! Wow so exciting. I wonder if they were testing the ground to make sure it can handle 100 levels instead of 55 levels!! I've jumped on the footpath near there once and it was a little wobbly.

Theres a little underground river that is underneath the site, so yes, probably testing stability

There is a creek that runs under the masons building which is contributing to the problems with that building, so they may have some issues with their new building on that site.

There is open air carparking on the northern half of the site, and a four level office building on the southern half.

Does this development even have a website yet? The JWDT website doesn't seem to exist anymore and a quick search of "SA1 tower" or "207 Pulteney Street" only yields the news articles shared on here previously.
If there's no website then I imagine construction might still be some time away, as they'll need to officially launch/market it and potentially build a showroom.
I imagine we'll start to see these things early on this year?

They’re not going to start building anything until aforementioned website and sales office are established. Just because some people are on site, likely to be conducting further soil testing, doesn’t mean anything in the way of an imminent start date for construction.

How do we know that?
There’s often a lot of behinds the scenes stuff that happens we aren’t privy too. Projects often take years here to get off the ground. The two tallest won’t be an exception to that.

So apparently, in a new report of the sites suitability and physical stability, ground works etc.
Its been revealed that there is in fact a little subterranean river /and or aquifer underneath the site
This river has quote "prevented subterranean development" hence have to have the car park above ground
If the river wasn't there they could have put the car park under ground and couple more hotel rooms or maximized space I guess, improved the economic return of the development but it is what it is
But just a little update for you guys, at this time the project is waiting on building consent to start construction and demolition of the current office on the site.
