There was a crane rise over last weekend.

The tower crane on this site appears to have had a tower rise today or recently.

The new steel work actually extends beyond the edge of the lower 3 floors .This means the upper floors will a larger floor plan.

Photo from this week, looking South.
I quite like steel framed construction: something really tangible about seeing the installation of large RSJ

I work in the building directly behind this site and look down on it and have seen it increase rapidly in height. Its really coming along but I am nervous about what the inside the old GPO looks like especially the main hall part under the dome. Anyone know what it currently looks like and what the plan for it is? Just hope that its left intact and restored.

I believe the old GPO will be completely restored and from memory turned into a high end retail/dining precinct.

My understanding this might be phase 2 of the hotel project.baytram366 wrote: ↑Mon May 01, 2023 9:46 amI work in the building directly behind this site and look down on it and have seen it increase rapidly in height. It will likely be ignored for years, and finally developed. It should really encompass the new lobby of the hotel and have bars, restaurant and some shops.
*Looks at Dyson Airblade Factory* "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure"
