Ads getting worse at making site unusable on mobile

On top of pages occasionally getting stuck loading an ad and stalling so that you need to refresh just to progress, some of the ones embedded in threads are now so large that they make it impossible to navigate the page.

Have had this one twice in the last few minutes in the middle of a thread, and once reached it is impossible to scroll past or back up.

I know mate, trust me I’m not doing this. It’s Google Adsense.

They have this feature called auto ads and it stickies ads to the top, bottom, and all over the screen.

I didn’t really know what it was at first, as they used to be known as pop up ads.

Anyway I’ve limited the amount of sticky ads on the Adsense settings menu, and hopefully you should see less of it.

Site is unusable. Half the page filled with an ad. You roll back and it covers a quarter then you click again to roll it back the whole way, only to reveal a full page and on the site page itself. Close the ad, click another link, start it all over again.

Apparently this site only exists now to generate ad impressions from troll dick heads like ABC anyway.

I’m sorry about that mate, there’s a setting called vignetted ads on google ads. That pops stuff up and takes up the full screen, it’s stupid I know. I’ve switched off auto ads and now vignetted ads, hopefully they don’t come up again. I’d rather not run ads at all tbh, but it almost covers the cost of the hosting and domain (not quite but nearly enough).
