Hey Micbara, when do you think construction will start and finish on this development? Could you give us a rough timeline if you can?
Cheers,

Finishing the working drawings is a huge task, practically speaking I would expect construction to commence feb 2024 and finish 2 years later, the program looks like around 18 months, but that's a little to ambitious if you ask me.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 10:27 amHey Micbara, when do you think construction will start and finish on this development? I love this honesty. Did you have to get approval from higher ups before engaging with us or just YOLO'ing it?MicBara wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 5:27 pmFinishing the working drawings is a huge task, practically speaking I would expect construction to commence feb 2024 and finish 2 years later, the program looks like around 18 months, but that's a little to ambitious if you ask me.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 09, 2023 10:27 amHey Micbara, when do you think construction will start and finish on this development? I was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now
I think it'll be good for Adelaide

three photos from today
The North Terrace streetscape where the Masonic tower will take over as Adelaide's signature building.
The area at the rear where the building will be constructed.
Some interesting sculptures in the front garden of the house next door - North Terrace still has some pretty nice heritage places.

yes we'll only be 50 years behind when a building of that height was Melbourne's tallestVinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 10:38 amI was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now

Well unless we move the airport, its likely to stay that wayabc wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:27 pmyes we'll only be 50 years behind when a building of that height was Melbourne's tallestVinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 10:38 amI was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now

They've already started planning to double the size of the airport to accommodate the A380's and 747 which it for some reason expects to come to little adelaide. So unfortunatley it probably won't happen

If you’ve ever been to Perth you will know tall buildings don’t make a city…abc wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 6:27 pmyes we'll only be 50 years behind when a building of that height was Melbourne's tallestVinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 10:38 amI was upset about the height decrease to 183m instead of 187, but like literally... its only 4 metres it'll still be hella tall compared to what we have now

New York had a 300m tower a full 70 years before Melbourne….
P.S. in 1973, the tallest building in Perth wasn’t even 100m. The 131m AMP building opened in 1975.

I'd rather a dense city/cbd filled with 60-150m tall buildings then a few really tall buildings.
A vibrant city with life day and night.

the Masonic lodge won't be completed until 2027 if their current schedule goes to plan...that's best case scenario...so we're talking about 1977 here as a comparison
