When the boundaries were established as a part of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016.



For the record, I still think it's weird they're trying so hard to push Adelaide to the south east and over the hills instead of to the north.

what a joke, no way Mt Barker is part of the Adelaide metro area. Its creative accounting to include it in the population stats. Same trick Dan Andrews pulled with Melton this week to cover up the fact people are leaving Melbourne due to his polcies.

Mount Barker has closed a lot of its industrial base in preference for suburban retail outlets. It likes to claim it's a regional city, but does very little to prove it's not just part of the outer suburbs.

Its called Greater Adelaide or the Greater Adelaide Metropolitan region.
There is continuous population between Adelaide and Mount Barker. There's another significant urbanised area, Stirling/Aldgate/Crafers/Bridgewater in between as well.

Wouldn't be surprised if a housing development popped up between Beerenberg Farm and Hahndorf Farm Barn bordered by the freeway and Mount Barker Road.

there's literally farms in between...you're even saying it yourself and counting farms as urban sprawl

It's is a big deal.
It's a metric on economic performance.
It shows that Adelaide is growing, regardless of how slowly, not stagnating or declining.

What do you think the current data should be compared to, if not past data for Adelaide? Do you think they're going to compare a data set for Adelaide against another city, to determine growth for Adelaide?
