Why would it be progressing any faster in Melbourne?
Australia 108, Melbourne's current tallest took for ever to get off the ground. So even in places like Melbourne, its a long, some times drawn out process.
Bit different comparing Australia’s tallest, you wouldn’t expect to to be quick wherever it is based.
Now speaking of progress, I think 88 O’Connell has been really quick from announcement to current construction stage.
In terms of this one, as it’s backed by the ACC you would hope would provide for a quicker / easier route to get started.

It seems like it goes quicker in Melbourne at first glance, because there's so much going on simultaneously.
A 130m tall building in Melbourne isn't all that exciting anymore like it is here where we are starved of buildings over 100m.

Reactivated my account just to mention this...
So next Monday they're going to start blocking off footpaths on Gouger and Grote and the site will formally be taken over by the developer.

This email just went out to the UPark Plus mailing list:
Changes to UPark Central Market to accommodate the development are set to commence Monday 22 May 2023.
UPark Central Market and the Adelaide Central Market will remain open during all stages of construction.
What does this mean for me?
There will be changes to traffic flow within the car park during the construction period. Please take note of signage and drive with caution.
There will be a reduction in car park spaces during construction which will be reinstated upon project completion.
You will also continue to receive access to daily capped rate pricing AND one hour free at UPark Central Market and UPark Andrew.

Did the height increase ever go through SCAP?

Height variation has not been through SCAP. I would think they will stary work on the assumption it will be approved.

What is the new height? Will it make it the tallest if approved? Sorry I think I missed this.
