If you need me to explain what the term "average" means then please say so. But i'm guessing you won't need to if you completed at least year 8 of high school.

It shows that Adelaide is growing, regardless of how slowly, not stagnating or declining.

What do you think the current data should be compared to, if not past data for Adelaide? Do you think they're going to compare a data set for Adelaide against another city, to determine growth for Adelaide?

saying "S.A is still ranked first for construction work done." is an entirely misleading statement when you compare the miniscule amount of construction being done here compared to other states

now if you said SA is the best state at having more construction than it did 10 years ago (which was almost nothing) it would tell a truer picture

As always with these events- its not just about the stats from the event itself. Anecdotally, the media here in Perth and many people I talk to are genuinely perplexed (read jealous) about the amount of events and discussion about Adelaide. The publicity is great. I dont recall in my decade over here- ever hearing so much about my old state.

If the NRL had the vision to setup a team in Adelaide, and followed through with supporting it financially to ensure it survived long enough to stand on it's own feet like the AFL does with new franchises ie Gold Coast & GWS, then I think NRL would do well here considering NRL games in for example NSW don't exactly draw massive crowds.

Yep. Rugby League pitch must be 68m wide and 112 - 122m long. Hindmarsh is 80m wide and 120m long. NRL has already been played there afaik.

Whilst I agree its probably unlikely to see State of Origin back in SA in a hurry, it is not a reflection of the Adelaide public that the event did not sell out. Many tickets to Optus were also giveaways when it was in Perth, and that with a very large expat South African and New Zealand population here it was an easier sell in WA. The existing rugby team (not league) here in Perth does struggle for profile in the regular season - and as others have pointed out, the smaller suburban clubs in Sydney do struggle to attract decent crowds anyway. ARL is just not in the financial position to bankroll a team in SA at present. Overall given the publicity- definately a worthwhile event.
