One of my earliest concepts with the Gawler line going through the CBD to Unley and onto Millswood. With also new subways running from the northeast to south and southeast.

It is a very nice concept. Unfortunately, if they ever go underground, they'll probably avoid tunneling under the Torrens.

why? Its only about 3 feet deep if you ever seen it drained

not that we'll ever see an underground line anywhere in Adelaide in our lifetimes

I'd say the problem for a lot of the "just drawn lines" would be "what about the grade of the track"?
I think the Lake is about 2-3m deep these days, was mentioned a few times and technically is used to be a lot deeper (if you look at the Weir in the west, you can kinda tell where the bottom of the lakebed used to be)

I personally think the whole station needs to be replaced, but that's another story.

So instead of refreshing those pitiful shelters by actually replacing them… ‘artwork’

How much water is in Sydney Harbour? Yet they've tunnelled there for their metro. Anyhow, they don't need to tunnel under the Torrens but drop in caissons and leave enough room for Popeye, etc. An engineering solution that can easily be done together with piling and waterproofing.

I don’t think the new departure screens tilt down quite as much as the old ones. Would make it easier to read standing in the concourse if they adjusted the angle down a little more.

Do you think we have Sydney's money? Just wait 10 or 20 years. When they build the railway tunnel, it will be entirely on just one side of the river. That is, if they build a tunnel at all.

Respectfully, if they didn’t want people milling about next to the turnstiles then they should’ve put the departure screens in a better location.

If you enter from the North Terrace escalator, the Riverbank Entrance or the underpass, standing there is the only way to see the departure screens.

Respectfully, if they didn’t want people milling about next to the turnstiles then they should’ve put the departure screens in a better location.

If you enter from the North Terrace escalator, the Riverbank Entrance or the underpass, standing there is the only way to see the departure screens.

While I'm glad to see the Casino bridge gone, it's unfortunate there's no longer any screens facing north or south along the concourse.

Then again, I can see no way of hanging them without disrupting the view.
