A ground level carpark. Relatively cheap to build, relatively easy to build on top of. These things don't need to exist forever.
The nature of large precincts such as the airport means that you can't build everything in its final form all at once. It goes like this:
Demolish some old sheds and buildings. Move the carpark from outside of the new terminal footprint to new ground level carpark. Expand the terminal. Airport usage increases with more flights and passengers. Demand for parking increases and reaches critical point. Build second multi-story carpark. Ground level carpark closed and new business precinct built in its place.
This might take 15 years to follow through but it means that there is always progress and development underway
I’ll be interested to know whether they plan on extending the terminal to the north-east or the south-west near the control tower.
I swear they’ve already extended the the terminal to the north-east already though, and if you look at the master plan, the north-east side looks pretty much finished.
Maybe it has to be the south-west

Apparently Batik Air will be suspending flights out of Adelaide from July, citing low passenger loads as the reason for stopping services. This now leaves Jetstar as the only direct flight after Virgin suspended services due to lack of aircraft.

This is good news as this is a sometimes-forgotten route, having lived in WA for 9 years previously. Let's hope Rex can be profitable because they are really the only airline that can keep the current duopoly in check with pricing.
Rex's fares between Sydney and Adelaide are very competitive indeed.

Note that Rex will be using Embraer E190's on Perth - Adelaide. They could probably fill 737's if they wanted to, but remember Rex tried running 737-Maxes on Mildura - Sunshine Coast, and see how that turned out for them.

Might not be enough affordable 737 available right now either, Virgin is also struggling with this. Add to that their Perth based subsidiary owning these E190s (probably on downtime from FIFO work), they're probably a better option (for now).

Not surprising, another airport getting tonnes of investment. Perth airport getting massive deal with qantas to double flights and new infrastructure.

Not even a peep of our Singapore flight returning. Its
DISCRIMINATION from Qantas at this point. They hate us.

Purely a business decision. Perth is twice the size of Adelaide and gets a lot more FIFO traffic.

All we've been asking for is our Singapore flight back at least twice a week on whatever possible aircraft available, for the past 13 years. Not a BIG ask.

I think Perth Airport will be world class when all terminals are together and when they add a second runway. You can see it is well laid out. Adelaide and Perth are in different leagues. They can't be compared. We should be proud of ours considering the size of Adelaide. We've done pretty well and it will get better when all the expansion plans come to fruition over the next ten years.
As for Singapore flights forget QANTAS. Fly with Singapore Airlines, and if you want more flights, like from ten later this year to fourteen (twice daily). Then you must fly with them more often. I've already done one earlier this year and have two more coming later with possibly another by year's end or early next year. So do the walk not the talk.
Cheers
