[U/C] Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels

Crane going up as we speak

Looks like it'll be a luffing style Favco crane too from what I saw today, with their smaller load radius that most hammerhead cranes, it reinforces that this site sill have at least four cranes.

Central Markets TC1 almost complete
All 4 cranes will be up by end of July, assuming they don't encounter any snags I would suggest we would see one going up per weekend from here on out.

Second crane is being installed. This one looks like the main crane for the apartment tower, it looks to be a hammerhead crane (the tower elements and climbing collar are similar to the hammerhead crane at the opposite Victoria Tower site.)

So relieved this isn’t going to be an empty hole in the ground

Taken today - those guys up there bolting together the jib are a lot braver than me

Wow, a luffing crane, I got that guess wrong! Great to see the second one up!
[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels
I think I spotted the third crane base very close to these 2. Seems strange to have them so close together?
[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels
I am thinking that the crane with the climbing collar is the main one for the apartment building?
Do the individual cranes have an arc limiter to prevent them swinging into the area covered by another crane? I am not sure how they work in close proximity.

I still think Le Cordon Bleu would be an ideal tenant for the market precinct. The mooted plans for Lot Fourteen appear to be going nowhere.Three government agencies – the Department for State Development, Department for Energy and Mining and the SACE Board – will occupy four levels of the office tower under a 10-year lease.
Around 950 employees will move into 10,050sq m of space in the 22,500sq m office building at the southern end of the Market Square development near Gouger St.

Agree, Lot 14 deserves better than a cooking school - and I say that with all respect.SRW wrote:Here's the relevant bit:gnrc_louis wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 8:18 pmCould someone please post: https://www.adelaidenow.com.au/subscrib ... nt-2-SCOREI still think Le Cordon Blue would be an ideal tenant for the market precinct. I'm a bit torn about this one. The sceptic in me wonders if this commitment by the State Govt was required to get this thing moving. I guess we'll never know.
We'll also never know how much the taxpayer will be shelling out for this. Are they breaking other leases to move? Is the rent in the new offices more expensive? How much will the fit-out cost? How many days a week will they actually spend in the office?
Obviously it would be a much better outcome if the office space had been taken up by private enterprise. There's been quite a lot of new office space coming onto the market over the past few years, so I guess they are just happy to secure some pre-commitment.

It's a sad state of affairs when most commercial property news in this state tends to involve state government departments being shuffled around...
Where are the stories about ASX Listed XYZ Corp transferring 500 roles from interstate? Sadly they never seem to happen.
