Vision: Light Square Tower - 100f / 500m
Re: Vision: Light Square Tower - 100f / 500m
It's always been a two-way street, not only for the 'tiser but for other papers also. The only difference is that we always give proper sourcing... it's something that's been drilled into my head from uni days.

Yeh it is. There is no CC1. So maybe this has been floating around for a few years?

We've arrived!AtD wrote:Still, interesting that this site was the source of a news article - is this a first for us? Usually it's the other way 'round!
I know the media often scour messageboards for articles though.
I remember Jacki O from the radio used to do a gossip segment and source all of it from a certain music messageboard.
People started to realise and began fabricating absolute crap, and she broadcast the lot on air.

Yes, apparently the Vics didn't want the Solar Tower at Mildura, and Rann, being so much more of a greeny, threw his hat in the ring. It is now going to go at the LeCornu site. Makris is going to build apartments 3/4 of the way up the tower and they will be powered by the turbines within the tower just below the apartments. The rest of North Adelaide will be covered in glass sheeting with glass walls around the edge, to heat the air around the tower and in doing so, force it up the tower. As the heated air escapes from the top of the tower, it will pass through a 75m tall windsock made in a likeness of Ann Moran.

Re: Vision: Light Square Tower - 100f / 500m
It's clearly a very serious poll:
Is Adelaide's lack of tall buildings an embarrasment for the city?

No, tall buildings are too phallic.
Yes, a city without tall buildings is like a pub with no beer.

Under copyright laws the media are required to acknowledge the architect and/or artist responsible for the design/artwork referenced or pictured in an article. This rarely happens. The Independent Weekly do it sometimes but the Advertiser rarely acknowledges architects or artists. They sometimes mention the builder or developer but rarely the designer.Howie wrote:It's always been a two-way street, not only for the 'tiser but for other papers also.
