Freighters may use reduced thrust on landing, but that doesn't preclude a go-around which would rattle a few windows. So, it could have been either, really. I dare say someone might have inside information to post. That would confirm it either way.

That was NZ65 DPS-AKL diverted to ADL that took off just before 02:00 (yesterday Thursday). See previous page with details from FlightAware.

Here's another one for you...
Cheers
P.S. And there have been more flights overnight here and there. Just wondering if we still actually have a curfew or some flights are allowed. QF7223 landed from the northeast.

Flights like QF7223 are freighters, which are allowed. There are several that land every night.

flightradar shows Texel flight TFX36 coming in from the west at 4:40am, aborting and climbing over West Beach and then landing from the east at 5:10. Maybe the wind changed suddenly

Not surprising. Plenty of other 1 stop options.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:25 pmTheres rumour of Vietjet leaving by end of the year. Not confirmed
On a side note, VietJet's flights from / to Perth never seem take the most direct route over the Bight. They always detour inland over the Nullarbor. Does anyone know why?

Vietjet captains have a habit of making the weirdest routes possiblerogue wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2024 3:06 pmNot surprising. Plenty of other 1 stop options.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:25 pmTheres rumour of Vietjet leaving by end of the year. Not confirmed

Federal opposition is suggesting they might try force Qantas to sell Jetstar if elected.
Would it really help bring down prices? Saw on one of the morning news programs that when Jetstar has a sale, on the corresponding flights with Qantas they put the prices up. Not sure if true, never paid that much attention.
Would an independent Jetstar survive long?
Would there be any benefit for Adelaide airport?
Further to this was just watching the 730 Report, I believe a Liberal politician was on. Apparently Qantas has 107 slots in Sydney between 6am and 11am? In a lucrative market with 40 million passenger movements..and didn't quite catch who but another airline only has 7.
Would giving say Virgin, or Rex if they come out of administration, or this new Koala Air of they get off the ground, more slots across and between all the other major airports even things up?

Not surprised at all. So disappointed that the schedule goes via PER - so unappealing, although I understand their reasons for it.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 9:25 pmTheres rumour of Vietjet leaving by end of the year. Not confirmed
Their load factor for June were 52% inbound / 54% Outbound, zero freight.

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
Government needs to give some money to Vietjet to keep them here. We can’t afford to lose a third airline this year
Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
if the route is not viable why should the taxpayer subsidise it?VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 3:35 pmGovernment needs to give some money to Vietjet to keep them here. We can’t afford to lose a third airline this year

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Airport & Airlines
If it's simply to keep them flying here, would be a waste of tax payers money and would simply end up offshore filling Vietjets coffers. If they're just going throw money away like that they may as well throw it at us at least we'll spend it locally lol.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 3:35 pmGovernment needs to give some money to Vietjet to keep them here. If it's a joint tourism promotion in Vietnam and here, then it might be worthwhile.
