Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
Do we actually know what's going to happen here? Did I miss something?
Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
either its getting demo'ed or rebuilt from the inside out
tired of low IQ hacks
Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
I posted this on the low/mid rise development page yesterday as I did not realise the Salvation army had its own file...
Salvation army Building in Whitmore Sq/Morphett St is being demolished , picture 17/7/2024 - rear view from Gilbert St. the old cottage on the corner of Gilbert St/Morphet St is still standing (only just as it is propped up). in my opinion it should be demolished as it is structurally unsound.

Re: Salvation Army - Whitmore Square
A lot has happened on site but the works are not for any planned towers. A fence has been put in to divide the land by two and a path for the neighboring salvos units on Gilbert Street has been installed.

Pics as at 09/12.
Carpark. Lawn. The sound of crickets chirping. Doesn't look like anything will be happening in a hurry.

If it is going to be left empty at least they made the effort to make the site look vaguely respectable. Better than the derelict eyesore that was there.

I imagine it will eventually become an affordable housing development?
