About the project
We are upgrading the Richmond Road and Railway Terrace intersection at Keswick, making it easier to travel between the western suburbs and the city.
This upgrade will also improve access to major shopping and sporting precincts at Mile End.
The $70 million project is part of the $850 million package of broader network upgrades, funded by the Australian and South Australian governments as part of the River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) project.
Project timing
The project is currently in the design stage. We look forward to sharing more information as the Project progresses

It looks like the parks that are off the main corridor are being reasonably well looked after - probably because they have been handed over to councils to maintain (who are mostly well equipped to look after parks because that's part of what we pay our rates for). But the motorway corridor itself is woeful, presumably because nobody within DIT has any expertise, interest or political sway to make landscaping a priority. (Which dovetails in with the inadequate cycling and pedestrian infrastructure).

Demolition between Southern Tunnel exit and SDB is well underway along the whole trench corridor. Makes me wonder what the schedule plan will be for construction. Obviously the access is needed at the ends for entry/exit of the tunneling machines, but will the rest of the trench be built years before this section can open, or will it be left as a bunch of bare ground for the next couple of years? Perhaps they'll open this trench section before the tunnels are ready?

Is there a current timeline published anywhere? Will they be on canal bridges over the trench, or siphons under it with some mechanical maintenance system to keep silt clear?
