Just found a skyscraper identical to this tower in Toronto, Canada. “CIBC Toronto” copycat design. So this is what it will look like when completed. It does look good in the sunset!!

A Bahn mi cafe or a “weird Gen Z cafe” could attract the neighbouring uni students if done at the right price. Would attract trade outside of big event days as well, so hardly “ain’t doing shit”.VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 8:21 pmA bar offering beer and hearty breakfast/lunches/dinners would probably be the best fit for the bottom level of this tower. That would really entice the Footy men to come into the plaza from AO.
A Vietnamese bean bun restaurant or a weird Gen-Z cafe ain't doing shit.

Home Ground does an absolutely roaring trade on game day - but only usually before the game, it closes afterwards. Something similar for post-match food would be great - I'd be on board.

Bahn mi is kind of over done now kind of like burger joints.Spotto wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 10:15 amA Bahn mi cafe or a “weird Gen Z cafe” could attract the neighbouring uni students if done at the right price. What's needed IMHO, is something to entice people to stay in the local area, not grab something to eat and go.
Some sort of bar/entertainment offering that complements the nearby casino and Hindley st a few steps away.

Been saying for years needs something to attract people day and night.

Nice find! So, not that original thenVinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 25, 2025 8:44 amJust found a skyscraper identical to this tower in Toronto, Canada. “CIBC Toronto” copycat design. So this is what it will look like when completed. It does look good in the sunset!!

It does look good lit up at night, though the bright crown is a bit overpowering.

Unironically I’ve had that vision in my head before. A big set of fountains in the Torrens in front of festival plaza. I mean, we could drain the Torrens, get some technicians down there and fix the big fountain and get it going again lol.

Never thought I would see the day Adelaide was featured on the B1M!

Awesome stuff!
Love this page.
The Canadian building at sunset is cute. Not as dynamic as I thought it’d be but this will make it a post card shot for sure. Adelaide sunsets are something else

Photos will be pretty sporadic going forward. I'm not sure when I'll next be in the building.

Thanks for the photos you have provided. They haven't wasted time demolishing those levels.notmichaeljfox wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 11:08 pmPhotos will be pretty sporadic going forward. I'm not sure when I'll next be in the building.

Accounting firms EY and PWC, the ATO (Australian taxation office), and the Commonwealth are in talks about becoming anchor tenants for the new tower.
More announcements in coming weeks.

How? This development hasn't even been approved yet. How can anyone be satisfied the blatant corruption the surrounding this development? It hasn't even been approved, and yet ground works have commenced, tenants are being sought after and it's having its moment in all the local media?VinyTapestry849 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 31, 2025 4:08 pmAccounting firms EY and PWC, the ATO (Australian taxation office), and the Commonwealth are in talks about becoming anchor tenants for the new tower.

Furthermore, EY, PWC and the ATO are currently reside in the GPO precinct, so what's that going to do to that part of the CBD if these tenants relocate?

You don't honestly think handshake deals haven't been in place well before the project became public knowledge?
