From The Advertiser
Nothing new. Sounds like may be struggling to get tenants?
Burnside Village opening date 2025 pushed back to May | The Advertiser
The grand opening of Burnside Village following a multimillion-dollar expansion has been delayed once more – with the revised opening date pushed back further into the year.
The high-end, luxury mall located in the eastern suburbs was originally set to open in March.
But after failing to meet this deadline, Burnside Village management has revealed they have been forced to push back the opening date to May 29.
The Burnside Village chief executive Gregg Downer said the delays were caused by brand retailers.
“The base build construction is now complete,” he told The Advertiser.
“The remaining work consists of retailer shop fit-outs and minor architectural and landscaping works … a number of our Stage 6 retailers were facing challenges which would have either impacted on their ability to commence trading from the originally estimated opening day.”

Currently an abstract mural covers the concrete wall on the corner of Portrush and Greenhill Roads, which does not match to artist’s impression of the upgrades.
Mr Downer said retailers will be completing their shop’s look in the coming months.
“Retailers are aiming for completion of their fit outs by the Centre revised opening date on 29 May,” he said.
“It is currently proposed that those brand retailers who are unable to commence trading on the revised opening day will target to open in the months thereafter.”
Mr Downer said they will continue to provide “regular updates on the progress of the expansion” on their social media.
Owners Cohen Group have previously said Burnside Village expansion would be the largest private sector retail property expansion in South Australia.
The expansion will double the centre’s footprint to nearly 39,000sq m, including 80 new stores with three levels of additional retail space, new premium mall, new dining area offering elevated food and beverage options and 560 free undercover parks fitted with a guidance system and a 24-hour gym facility.

Bit of an understatement there
And does this mean they're no longer proposing cutting doors & windows out of the corner cliff face? Surely that would constitute more than "minor architectural works"?

Doors and windows won’t be until final facade by tenant over the painting. Could be 12 months or more away.

Place your bets on how long it will take for the wall to be graffitied when the fences come down. I'm going with 72 hours.

Was it anticipated to take so long, or is it a sign they're having difficulty finding tenants?

Guys that corner is meant to be Louis Vuitton facade it’s obvious from the videos, LV still haven’t signed on and burnside are probably freaking out because LV is there anchor apart from coles and Zara.

I would think (if LV don't move in) the simple answer would be to move Uniqlo to the larger corner and refit the current spot they have with another retail outlet.

Is that part of the store or random signage in the middle of the mall?

A lot of no-name brands. I’m surprised watches of Switzerland have bothered staying whilst LV haven’t even confirmed a permanent store.
They would be better in the city
