the cranes (height??) give a small clue to how the massing of these buildings may look in some of these longer views - look forward to seeing them grow and then disappear in a sea other new buildings!!!!

Yeah, it would be good if the buildings were going to be large as their cranes (so the cranes would already be giving us a good indication). Great to see so much activity, nonetheless. Especially since that area, like many areas, is almost completely flat.

Can enyone tell me why there are so few potain cranes (hammerheads) used in Adelaide - they are everywhere in Brisbane. The only other one I've known about in Adelaide was on the old Australia Hotel in O'connell St.

Could it be something to do with availability?
The crane used here is hired from Bianco's. It it one of 2 they have available for hire. This one is 45m (i think) and the other one is around the 30m mark.

Yeah. I went to the launch of Bianco's new site at Gepps Cross last Friday and one of the tour guides mentioned it.
I could have been hearing things though....

Good photo Urban. What is that building behind the cranes? I've never noticed that before.

Behind the yellow crane is the Mills Street Car Park. Great vantage for photos.

Boxing day update. This one is shooting up quickly. If it wasn't for the Xmas shutdown it would top out in only a few months thanks to its steel frame.
