Good to hear. It's a well-designed building, and I'm glad to see it is going ahead.

It is very nice, though it would look so much better if it was 20 levels high.

Nice design, good to see some 'curves' in a new proposal rather than the standard box of late.

I forgot to mention that this development has had some slight modifications, the most important of which (in my opinion) is that the building will have an extra 2m of height, bringing the height of the structure from 31.5m to 33.5m.

This is looking really good. It is great to see open space and landscaping being incorporated in an apartment complex.

Good news! This development has received planning approval from the ACC this evening:
New developments to attract more families, students to the City

Released: 17 Dec 2007 [12.00am] Send to a Friend

The Adelaide City Council’s campaign to encourage more people to live and study in the City has received a boost, with the Council’s Development Assessment Panel tonight approving two major new residential developments.

Waymouth Towers Pty Ltd is proposing to build 90 residential units, as well as a basement car park and ground level commercial tenancies, at the corner of Waymouth Street and Crowther Street in the City.

The $37 million plan would see all existing buildings on the 2,650 square metre site demolished, with the company proposing a new 10-level curved residential tower and a six-storey retail and apartment building, along with other two-to-three level townhouses and units.

The proposed car park would have 109 spaces, while the apartments will incorporate a range of energy efficient measures such as a high level of natural light, cross ventilation, efficient lighting systems, and use of energy efficient appliances throughout the development.

Good. I was a little worried that this one wouldn't make it though due to it's design.

The height of the tower in the first picture is different from the rest of the pics.

so the original proposed height was removed? that's a shame, but was it due to over-shadowing of the neighbours?

The original proposal was actually 2 metres shorter than what actually got approved.

This one was listed in today's paper under the tenders section. It stated an anticipated start in late April this year. Sounds hopeful.
