Yes the design plan that was handed in is at 6 levels
One for ground floor and then five floors hence 6 floors the only change
is that those fronting the surrounding streets (Not O'Connell) have a
level of 4 but move to 6 floors a bit back from the street.
In effect it is the same plan with reduced shadowing effect on the
surrounding streets.
Thats why Councillor MORON is upset at it being technically the
same plan that was delivered last time. She and the other Councillors
and the North Adelaide NIMBY Brigade were hoping for 3-4 level
max not ground floor plus five.

Here is the link, go to the section at the bottom down below stated Released Wednesday 23 January 2008
there is a 30MB report but the 1.79MB report below is sufficient to see that it is at SIX LEVELS

Looking though those PDFs, it's basically the same proposal. There's a few small changes, such as the car park now has a facade. It's still 6 floors with two floors underground.
[U/C] Re: #Proposed: 88 O'Connell St (Le Cornu Site) - 6 lvls
4 levels at the street creeping up to 6 at the back is a good compromise. Most importantly it breaks the ridiculous notion of "3 levels only" and hopefully sets a progressive precedent for future construction...
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I like it, its a good compromise for all parties concerned, the next stage is just to build it!
[U/C] Re: #Proposed: 88 O'Connell St (Le Cornu Site) - 6 lvls
yeah that looks Ok, so come on, lets go and begin. Otherwise it will be vacant for another 20 years

So it still has the cinema and supermarket?AtD wrote:Looking though those PDFs, it's basically the same proposal. There's a few small changes, such as the car park now has a facade. It's still 6 floors with two floors underground.

Thanks for the pic AtD.
Still looks good and has the same O'Connell street impression. Just can't see how rhis was offensive in Nth. Adelaide. It has that old world charm and appeal with lots of breaks in the O'connell st facade. It takes the whole block, thus removing a hotch potch of styles and all will be the same age and appearance - thematic.
I just hope they GET ON WITH IT. Who wants that hole left by Le Cornus as an alternative? Certainly no advertisement for Adelaide - 20 years is long enough - or will we hear of people attached to that place?

71.25m to roof, with a tower above that. Note that even with the tower, it is shorter than the Brougham Place building.

Looking very slick from all those renders. This development would fit in very nicely (maybe even encouraging a few other developments nearby), and certainly isn't too high, so I don't see why people are still complaining and/or it just can't go ahead. Fingers crossed as usual!

Sorry, I misread. That's above sea-level.
