5.9% growth rate? CBD by 2010 will easily have 20,000 residents. The ACC should be happy about increased revenue, and I would hope they direct this money into more significant upgrades of city streets.

Talking about street upgrades

New street lights are being erected on Grenfell Street, hopefully Pirie and Flinders are next!

Grenfell Street needs more than new light. It needs a complete makeover. It currently looks tired and way past its use by date.

I'm quite happy with the raised median the ACC recently installed at the East Tce end ... improves the look, and pedestrian safety.

They're currently giving Belair Road a huge makeover near the Hungry Jacks... finally though, the kerbs over there are so deteriorated it's not funny.

I'm still super pissed they took those beauties out from in front of 25 Grenfell. And they replaced them with a useless glass box that adds no character imo.

I will look at those development threads for the blafours site....My wife and i are looking at investing in Adelaide seeing it is projected to be growing in value by up to 25% for the next 3-4 years at least.
I've always been a bit worried about the premium you're likely to pay on an Urban Construct project. You'd need another five years before you recover your price, ignoring the depreciation, if you take a rough look at Liberty Towers (Glenelg) and possibly Newport Quays.

There seems to be a lot going on these days in town. The cbd is really changing, a few years and it will be barely recognisable to ex-pats.

Btw, there is a large crane and some construction going on opposite Adelaide High School, behind Australia Pizza House I think...?

I think that's the iPad. I noticed it recently as well.

It definetly is the Ipad. A 9lvl development out that way will have a bigger impact than I initially thought.

Listed by me on P2 of this thread from mid. Jan. Saw this going up on my annual visit to Adelaide. Was impressed by the size and such a development out that way.

Ben, not bad, but Spire is in the wrong place. From the angle of your image it should cover most of Allegra (corner of Bentham and Waymouth Streets).

Cheers

P.S. Another comment. It just shows you Adelaide won't change too much from this angle except bulking up. No real iconic towers separated by space...pity.

Not until you look from the airport.(when all KWS Sth. bldgs are done and Currie St is more visible).
