Some tenders still need to be finalised before construction can start.

Thanks, that explains a lot and a pity that they cannot make a good start while the weather is so good. I am looking forward to seeing the building as it gets moving.

Hi guys, just an update from our friend James Hines from Hines Group.

You might have noticed that the crane base has been installed on the Conservatory site. A concrete pour around this base is scheduled to occur today / Monday (it may have already happened), this will then take 2 weeks to set before the crane is installed. Given the height of the crane (being one of the tallest in Adelaide for quite some time) the installation and strength required in the base set up is a serious engineering process. Otherwise all tracking well, with the piles to the perimeter of the site all but installed and the pile cap to be poured by the end of next week. The site will then be dug out to basement level with pad footings formed and the formwork trade coming on site, where we should see the structure of the building rise very fast. Given the small footprint and complexity of this development it appears like not much has been happening, but I can assure you they have been flat-out behind that site hoarding.

there's also an update on 20 hindmarsh.

Sounds great.

Thanks for that update. A freestanding crane at that height will take some concrete in the base to keep it steady!

Nice big crane base on-site that everyone has been talking about. Pic from this afternoon:
