Ideas for a greater public transport system
Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
I disagree, everytime I've been on it, including final runs, it seems to have a few people on it.Cruise wrote:It's pointless
Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
But a west lakes line would be far better patronised IMO

I just feel Grange would be better serviced by buses

Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
It would make more sense to have everyone park their cars at west lakes then have the grange station with no carpark at all. At least people will USE it. However I still think it should be light rail.
Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
maybe convert the Grange line into an O-Bahn maybe?
running from woodville train station to football park running down the centre of west lakes boulevard?

Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
would it be better to make the grange train-line into a "dedicated road that any normal bus can use" as opposed to an o-bahn style guided-busway? That way buses could enter/exit the dedicated road at many points along the way! smooth...Cruise wrote:maybe convert the Grange line into an O-Bahn maybe? running from woodville train station to football park running down the centre of west lakes boulevard?
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

Guided busways have the advantage of greater speed without the risk of head on collisions. Other than that, no other reason between guided and unguided. Other than it's cool!Wayno wrote:would it be better to make the grange train-line into a "dedicated road that any normal bus can use" as opposed to an o-bahn style guided-busway? *does the O-Bahn dance*

They already have that though for the FX buses.Wayno wrote:would it be better to make the grange train-line into a "dedicated road that any normal bus can use" as opposed to an o-bahn style guided-busway? Re: Ideas for a greater public transport system
If you divert the Grange line at West Lakes Boulevard, only three stations are lost. We're talking a distance of only two kilometres with no major urban centres nearby. It simply wouldn't be worth the cost to build an O-Bahn.monotonehell wrote:Guided busways have the advantage of greater speed without the risk of head on collisions. But nice to see you're trying.

Very good point, we'll just have to rip up the entire line and replace it then *nods nods*AtD wrote:If you divert the Grange line at West Lakes Boulevard, only three stations are lost. I'd like to see a train load of passengers queuing onto buses single file...
